For years SAI has been producing rifle suppressors for hunting and target range use. Lately, the know how obtained by SAI on this field has also resulted in products for military and police use, for sniping and counter-sniping situations.

Generally speaking, the SAI rifle suppressors for larger calibre rifles are 'telescopic' suppressors. The suppressors telescopes down the barrel of the rifle to optimize the suppressor volume - and adding less length to the weapon. The muzzle thread is located, pending on version, 120 – 180 mm inside the sound suppressor.
Perfect alignment can be obtained in two basic manors. With rear support between suppressor and barrel - or by adding a support section to the rifle thread. With the rear support in place, the alignment is secured in two places. With added thread support alignment is only secured in one place - this should however give slightly better precision on longer ranges due to less interference of the natural barrel vibrations.
The suppressor operates via front baffles that help to confine the expanding gasses in a rear compression chamber just enough to ensure a slow release of the gasses from the sound suppressor. The barrel is sealed of from this chamber. The accuracy of the gun is unaffected. The point of impact however may change slightly, due to the adding of the extra weight at the muzzle, thereby altering the natural vibrations of the barrel.
Most SAI rifle suppressors are made with a variation of standard threads and in calibres like cal .22, cal. .222/.223, 6,5 mm, 30-06, cal. .308, 9,3mm cal. .458 etc. - but also suppressors with special threading or other specific end user requirements are made on a weekly basis.

Fitting Instructions: First time mounting af SAI hunting suppressors.
Generally speeking we advise that no special cleaning is necessary for SAI steel suppressors like the J80, M80 and Compact. Removal of surface dirth followed by wiping with sligthly oiled cloth should be done regularly to keep surfaces in good condition. We do NOT advise using ultrasonic bath etc. for cleaning SAI rifle suppressors.
Loose dirt or particles inside the suppressors should be removed by shaking suppressors.
ALWAYS make sure that nothing is obstructing the bullet flight path.
